Thinking about the past year memories flash in my mind like an old picture projector. Such a sweet, tiny little girl that melted my heart every time I looked at her. Her legs were like birds legs and her head only had hair around the bottom. She loved bath time then and she still does now. Yes, there's a few pictures that pop up with her screaming her head off and us not knowing what to do with her, but those are slowly fading. God blessed us with a delicate helpless baby that has blossomed into a fun spirited, full of life, and sometimes feisty little girl.
Presley, we love you to the moon, around a million times, and back. You have brought so much joy to us and have made us a family we weren't sure would happen. Someday when your old enough to read this I hope and pray you know we are beyond blessed to call you our baby girl.
Every time we gave her a letter to hold she would throw it. She wanted no part of holding the letters to explain that she was one.
I don't think Mav could stick anymore tongue out to clean her face!
Presley Stats:
Height: 28 inches
Weight: 19 pounds and 4 oz. (She has been here for months!)
Eyes: Blue
Hair Color: Strawberry blond
Talking: Dada, Bubba (for Mav dog), Yeah, no Mamma yet
Walking: While we were visiting Erin and Jonathan she took three steps to Jonathan. We haven't seen any steps since then. We think it's because Erin fed her chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast.
Eating: She eats almost everything. For sure sweets. If she doesn't like it...mix it with black beans and it still does the trick.
Favorite things to do: Bath, reading books, walk around the house while holding your hand, put her shoes on her feet, love of Mav dog or any dog
, picking her nose...yes, this is a new skill, wave hi to any and everyone in the store, and watching her baby sign language video.
Number Flights: 10!
A joyful past time.
A joyful past time.
During the month we went to the beach to visit Erin and Jonathan and then headed West to TX. It was time to celebrate her 1st birthday! The flight going there was a train wreck. Screaming and jolting her body everywhere was not really exciting to deal with. Nor was the lady that called AA to complain about being on a flight with a "screaming baby" and then proceeded to tell us she has an 11 month old that does NOT fly with her. Coming back was fantastic. Her Big got her her very own seat! She now has an Advantage number and will be wracking up some points. The birthday party was low key but great. She got to spend some time with both sets of families. It was delightful to have all 13 of her cousins in one place to play. Adam was a proud Daddy when his little girl understood that cake time meant dig in! Not one of the 12 first birthday (with the exception of Auston York) cake smashes have the kids really dug into their cakes.
Presley loving some time with Daddy and Jonathan. She got to eat cheese puffs with them.
Apparently she's now too cool to sit normally and eat.
All ready for church.
Our family:)
The most exciting event this month was Adam getting a horrendous case of poison ivy. It's now clear...the ivy growing along the back fence is not good to touch! His case was so bad he ended up on the surgeon's table. Within two days it had gotten so bad the doctor sent him to the hospital. We are grateful we got it when we did...or he wouldn't have an arm right now. He came home after spending the night being hooked up to antibiotics with five wholes in his arm that had to be repacked with gauze twice a day. I wasn't much help. Seeing his flesh was well beyond what I could handle. We have pictures...but I think I will spare you a nauseous stomach. It was good times good times!
