After the wedding we stayed a few days to do the tourist thing. The big anticipated moment was eating at The French Laundry. Adam and I not knowing much about anything agreed to go with his sister, her husband and his parents. We only knew it was named top restaurant in the world twice and the meal would take about 4 hours to complete. So we were pretty excited. Who doesn't want to eat for 4 hours? We walked in and were seated upstairs. The waiter introduced to the two menus. One is a meat and the other veggie. I knew the veggie would be tasty being the veggies were being picked in their garden across the street, but I couldn't pass up a taste of lobster. So I went with the meat. Everything was wonderful with the exception of the caviar...nope didn't taste it and wasn't planning on it! At the end of the meal it felt like the sweet treats just kept coming in. The best was when they brought out six dainty truffles. Each melted in your mouth. Adam and I loved the PB&J truffle.

California Dreaming!
This past week Adam and I had the joy of going to a family wedding in Livermoore California. Before going I had a mindset of what the people would be like (the Jones) and look like. I've never been and ever time I hear about Cali I think of people pretending to be rich and tyring to keep up with everyone else on the block. Just like they think we ride horses to work in TX. Turns out I couldn't have been more wrong. Each person we met was wonderful and Adam made a few friends along the way (my little social butterfly).

The following day we did a day of wine tasting. Adam and I don't drink much but decided we would enjoy the day tasting wine with the family. (I'd rather do a grape tasting!!) In my mind you would stop at a vineyard for a few hours and taste their wine and move on. Oh no, this was wine tasting in fast forward. Within 30mins you have tasted 6 different types of wine. Needless to say I decided to be the responsible one of the bunch and be the designated driver for the rest of the wineries. Every place we went to was just amazing. The views were priceless and all I could think was...WOW I bet this is the closest picture of heaven that I'll ever see. Everything was lushes and colorful, the flowers were abundant and beautiful, grapevines were endless, and fruit trees grew along the roadsides. Why do I live in Texas? Oh yes everything is outrageously expensive! With Berkly being so close we sat for a few moments and really contemplated on Adam working out there. The only place we found was a trailer park in a surprisingly very nice area. Every trailer looks so nice with a front porch and neighborhood pool and park, covered parking, beautiful flowers and landscaping in every yard...we couldn't believe it was a trailer park. Each trailer was going for 200,000!!!! WHAT?? So we laughed, kept walking and thanked God that our less expensive home in San Antonio had sold for half the price of a trailer in California. As the trip came to a close we rode with Big and Janice to San Francisco, took a quick tour and then headed home to TX. We had a wonderful time and we would HIGHLY recommend taking a trip there. Thank you Big A and Janice!!

Ghost
WOW! This week has been a really hard week for me and Adam. Monday we found out our 11 year old female has been diagnosed with a very bad case of cancer. With many tears, sleepless night and prayers, we decided to it was time for God to have her. I know as she past from this life to the next, her Bubba Shiner and a few family members that have gone before her, were waiting at the gates to play. I can't put into words what this dog meant to me much less Adam. She was the most loyal and loving dog anyone could ask for. Some of you that had the chance to know her knew that she had her circle of trust (she was not a free love giving dog) and if you were in it...she would be by your side no matter what. She made people who didn't like big dogs what one. We joked many times about the best behaved kid in the family was Ghost! She was just that kind of dog. We will miss her dearly and are so thankful that we were blessed with her. Ghost you will be missed by many people. We love you sister:)
