Fun with 5 months!

Presley is five months working on six and she continually takes my breath away.  Her smile when waking up in the morning and each nap melts my heart every time. Her belly laughs just might be the sweetest thing I've ever heard.  It's still an overwhelming blessing getting to watch this little girl grow.  It's an even more overwhelming blessing watching her daddy interact with her.  Talk about tugging on the heart strings. Presley couldn't have a better daddy! I fear the day true discipline has to come into play. I don't think I'll have near as big as a problem disciplining as him.  One look at him with those big blue eyes and he's going to be shaking in his boots. Until then we'll pray for direction and strength for when that time comes haha! We are also pretty stinking proud of dad and all his hard work.

This outfit cracks me up! She looks like the Chiquita banana lady! wish we could find a top to match.

Love her beautiful blue eyes.

Presley Stats:
Eye Color: Still blue. Thinking they are going to stay this way.
Hair color: strawberry blond. It seems to change weekly.
Weight: 16 1/2 pounds
Height: Not sure. We will find out at her 6th month check up in a few weeks.
New Tricks: She can roll over. The girl who HATED tummy time will now roll over and spend an hour on her tummy. Maybe it's ok now because it was her idea.  Hanging onto the spoon when you feed her. It's a daily battle to keep her from gagging herself. She wants to feed herself so bad. Belly laughing. I absolutely love to hear her laugh. I will be in another room and she will be cracking herself up. Priceless.

Fun things we've done: She went to the church nursery and seems pretty happy with being in there. In fact she felt so comfortable she had a blow out while she was there.  When we picked her up after church she was wearing " I'm and New Hope Church Baby" onesie.  New mom lesson one million and one, don't ever forget to pack an extra set of clothes in the diaper bag! The ladies were beyond nice and still told me how great she did. Live and learn. We also met some super sweet neighbors. They invited us to dinner and we got to meet some of their friends and kiddos.  Big and Neenie (Adam's parents) came to visit! After being without family for two months we were all ready for familiar faces.  While they were in town, they took us out to eat and we decided to use a babysitter. I have to say it was really nice to be out and about without taking care of her. She did great with the babysitter too.

Adam's cousin, his wife Erin and new puppy Truckee came to visit also. We are very lucky to have them live a few hours from us.

Presley's new favorite thing to do is bounce in her jumper. She will stay there forever and just jump away. Here's a video.

Not so fun things: I guess with all the nasty weather and being in the church nursery Presley was on system overload. She got sick. Not too bad, but the poor girl couldn't breath for the life of her. For two nights in a row she slept in her swing.

She was just pitiful.

Soon she was back to normal and loving on her Bubba! She is fascinated by him. The second he walks past her she giggles or smiles. It's just too sweet. I know I have some non-dog lovers in my family, but really the interaction between the two is too funny.

Every year around Feb.7th I have memories of my brother in law Jimmy York.  Presley is now around the age Auston was when he passed and this year is has placed a whole new meaning on my heart. I can't even dream of what life would be like without Adam.  Without Presley having her daddy.  It just breaks my heart to even think of it.  I remember my sister gracefully taking her family through what had to be the worst time of her life. I saw her lean on Christ for support and answers. She was always one of the strongest Christian women I've known, but her faith truly shined in those moments. Her smile never left her face, her bubbly attitude never went away. I'm so proud of her still today for how she went on knowing that God is still faithful. Soooo in honor of Uncle Jimmy we found his sunglasses and sported them for a little while. I have to say she sports them well.

As far as our house and the remodeling projects that have been going on...well they are still going. Soon and very soon we hope to be done with it all! Here's a few before and afters of what has been done.

Outside before

Outside after. We sill have some landscaping to do, but we are waiting for spring.

Kitchen old. Awful picture that was a snap shot off the Internet, but you get the idea. I LOVE the apple switch plate covers! You can't tell in the pic, but the counter tops were actually painted black and had white splats all over it.

Kitchen new! All the appliances now match and no more painted counter tops!

Living room new!

Don't have an old pic of Presley's room but it was baby blue.  We changed it to teal with polka dots!  The picture makes it more blue then teal.  I know, pretty bold, but we can always paint it when it's time to sell.

I will put more before and afters as they are completed.
